James Wilks has been based in Uttoxeter Staffs for over 40 years, carrying out independent surveys on domestic property in the area. He is the longest established practising surveyor in the town. He also undertakes drawing work for new dwellings, extensions and small commercial properties. He has unrivalled and detailed local knowledge of the town and surrounding villages.

Surveys available include a 'Level 2' report (formerly an RICS HomeBuyer Report). This is a popular mid-range product using a traffic light Condition Rating system to draw attention to urgent matters. 

For older or more complex properties a 'Level 3' report, formerly known as a full Building Survey or structural survey, may be more appropriate. Again, this uses a Condition Rating system but is a more detailed inspection and report which includes an estimate of the cost of any major works.

Drawing work is also undertaken including dealing with planning applications, building regulations and Land Registry plans.

The area covered extends to Staffordshire and Derbyshire generally.

As a guide to fees, a Level 2 Survey( formerly an RICS HomeBuyer Report) on a property at £150,000 purchase price will cost £400.00. A Level 3 Survey (formerly a Building Survey) at the same purchase price will cost £750.00.

Charges quoted are fully inclusive and not subject to VAT.

Payment is due on completion of the work or at stages as agreed. No payments are taken in advance or on account. Settlement can be by cash, cheque, internet/BACS bank transfer or by credit/debit card.
